　SEEDレーダー、ホシヤkeepに対し、関西地方で一般的と言われる消しゴムです。
60円から10,000円までの10サイズ展開、感触はトンボモノ消しゴムとほぼ同じです。1968年発売。
"SEED Radar" eraser, that appears popularized in west-Japan compared to Hoshiya "keep" eraser.
There are 10 sizes from 60 JPY to 10,000 JPY. Its erasing experience is similar to Tombow MONO eraser. It launched in 1968.

モノと同じく柔らかく折れやすいため、紙巻きには切り欠きがあり、消しゴムに食い込むのを防いでいます。

It has soft touch, in that tend to break.
Thus, to prevent to the breaking, its paper-sleeve has "U" cuttings on the corners, which avoid it cuts into the ridges.

　レーダーも今はモノと同じくベトナム製。日本製には劣ると聞きますが、私にはその違いがわかりませんでした。※モノ消しゴムは2010年代から日本製へ回帰しました。
Radar is made in Vietnam on today, which Tombow MONO as well.
People says that the Vietnam made Radar is inferior to Japan made, though, I do not appreciate the difference.

　レーダーは消しゴムと呼ばれるものの、素材は天然ゴム(植物性樹脂)ではなく塩化ビニールで、正しくはプラスティック字消しにあたります。
その塩ビによる字消しを製品化した会社がシードゴム工業(現SEED)であり、プラスティック字消しの始祖の直系にあたる製品がレーダーなのです。
　プラスティック字消しは1967年、トンボモノ100を1ダース買うと付属する消しゴムに採用され、すこぶる評判が良かったためモノ消しゴムとして別売りしたところ、たいへんな好評を博し、塩ビはそれ以後の消しゴムの主流素材になりました。
モノとレーダーが同一というのは公然の秘密となっているようですね。
　しかしその塩ビも環境配慮からエラストマ樹脂などに置き換えられるようになっており、レーダーにも非塩ビ系エコレーダーが登場しています。
Although the Radar eraser called "rubber to erase" in Japan, the component is not a natural rubber or vegetable resin, to be exact, it is a PVC ; Polyvinyl Chloride.
The PVC eraser was invented by SEED rubber industry company present SEED. The Radar is a lineal descendant of the eariest PVC eraser.
In 1967, the Tombow pencil company adopted the PVC eraser as an accompanying eraser for 1 dz. of Tombow's highest pencil MONO 100. Thereat, Tombow called the accompanied eraser as MONO eraser, and the eraser made a very good reputation for itself. With that, Tombow had released the MONO eraser separated from the pencil 1 dz.
A secret is seems to common property, which the Radar eraser and the MONO eraser are the same product.
Nowadays, the PVC eraser is replacing with non-PVC eraser by the environmental reason. The Radar also has non-PVC product "Eco Radar."
2008年現在、発売40周年を記念したゴールドミニレーダーつきが売られています。
In 2008, the company released the 40th anniversary package with a "Gold mini Radar."
